Thompson Rivers University (TRU), with the main campus located in Kamloops, British Columbia, is a primarily undergraduate, teaching-focused institution built on over 35 years of excellence in post-secondary education and training. General Accountability:
The Director manages the operational-level activities of the campus. The position is responsible for the safety and security of the campus, operation and maintenance of the facility and associated assets, as well as program delivery and all administrative / student services.

In addition the Director is responsible for the management of student and academic activities as well as program delivery and all administrative/student services. Aligning along school and department lines, the Director works closely with the various deans, directors, and department managers in Kamloops for the development and delivery of programs for the region, including extension and aboriginal programs. This position is also responsible for implementing specific initiatives in support of TRU's Strategic Plan.

Organization and Structure:
The Director reports to the Vice-President, Administration and Finance for day-to-day operations on issues relating to finance, marketing, administration, and community liaison. The Director also reports to the Provost and Vice-President, Academic on student and academic matters. The position will have direct contact with deans, directors, department heads, managers and appropriate committees in support of Williams Lake campus operations.

Responsibilities of the position include:
1. Develop, plan, coordinate and implement all site-specific activities related to the operation and maintenance of the campus building and related assets including fire protection, electrical / mechanical systems, grounds & landscaping, contractor management, and special projects, renovations and new construction; general responsibility for these functions lie with the Director of Facilities, Kamloops.
2. Prepare and recommend the budget for delivery of campus programs and services; monitor, verify, and reconcile expenditure of budgeted funds as appropriate.
3. Work closely with the various TRU Faculties and Schools to ensure delivery of all courses, programs, and specialized services on campus in accordance with approved programming and training plans.
4. Collaborate with deans, chairs, and department committees to determine course offerings, faculty workloads, assign work, and on behalf of the various TRU Faculties and Schools, manage administrative & operational aspects of faculty appointments on campus.
5. Work closely with department managers to provide student services on campus; recruit, interview, hire, and manage administrative staff.
6. Has direct responsibility for all Extension Programs / Continuing Studies activities on campus including finance, marketing, course delivery, client liaison and proposal development work.
7. Develop, plan, coordinate and implement all marketing activities related to the campus including creation of print materials, website design and maintenance, securing ad buys, generating local media news stories / exposure, hosting campus and community events; general responsibility for TRU news releases, higher-level marketing, and creative services / artwork lies with the TRU Kamloops marketing group.
8. Represent TRU externally on local and regional committees, associations, and advisory councils in discussions relating to campus programming and facility use.
9. Develop, plan, coordinate and implement all site-specific activities related to safety and security on campus including fire drills & lockdown training as well as asset management & compliance inspections; general responsibility for these activities lies with the associated departments in Kamloops.

Qualifications:
- A relevant Master's Degree, preferably in Business Administration, Aboriginal Education, Social Work or related fields, or equivalent education and experience
- More than ten years experience in progressive leadership roles in a post-secondary education environment delivering a wide variety of programs and services including extension programs and cost-recovery operations; project management roles or experience managing facilities an asset; experience working with aboriginal and community groups a definite asset
- A demonstrated ability to work efficiently, and professionally with a diverse range of people including senior administration, students, faculty, staff and Board of Governors, external contacts, government agencies as well as aboriginal and community organizations
- A demonstrated ability to plan, organize and manage projects
