Applications are invited for a full-time tenure track appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level commencing July 1, 2010 or as soon thereafter as possible. Applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or D.M.D./ D.D.S. with post-doctoral training and evidence of published research in microbiology and/or cell biology related areas. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. For a clinically qualified individual, the candidate must be eligible for licensure with the Manitoba Dental Association. The Department of Oral Biology (http://umanitoba.ca/dentistry/staff/dent_OB.html) is multidisciplinary and, provides basic science teaching to dental and dental hygiene students, and carries out research in neuroanatomy, biochemistry, proteomics, taste receptors, cell and molecular biology, physiology, oral-systemic health and microbiology. The applicant should be fluent in English and will be required to teach general microbiology and/or anatomy to dental and dental hygiene students, and to participate in Faculty courses at the graduate level. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a strong externally-funded research program to complement ongoing research in the department. Opportunities exist for collaboration with clinical/basic science departments on the Health Sciences campus.
