The Centre for Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology (CBET), located in UW's Faculty of Engineering, was developed to support, build on, and expand UW's burgeoning culture of entrepreneurship. CBET's goal is to change Canada's business landscape by focusing on its engines of growth. CBET has earned an enviable reputation in fostering entrepreneurship, innovation, creativity, and successful commercialization through its focused education, research, and professional development programs.
CBET is seeking an academic leader to serve as Executive Director of CBET. In addition to a PhD and the academic qualifications expected for an appointment as a tenure-stream faculty member in the Faculty of Engineering, the successful candidate will have:
- A vision of entrepreneurial education, research and community involvement that will lead CBET to new levels of excellence;
- The ability to lead and engage faculty, staff, students, university and community stakeholders in implementing and fulfilling this vision;
- Strong consensus building skills;
- Excellent leadership and communication skills;
- Experience in a senior leadership role with a record of success in fundraising;
- Strong fiscal management and budgeting abilities;
- A strong personal belief in the importance of entrepreneurship and commercialization as a foundation for redefining and improving the face of Canadian business.
