Huff Chair in Innovative Engineering Education

The College of Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan invites applications for the privately endowed Huff Chair in the field of innovation in engineering education. This is a unique opportunity, as the Huff Chair will be focused on measuring excellence in engineering education and its subsequent implementation through innovation. The College's ambition is to further improve an already highly regarded undergraduate program. With the assistance of alumni and the private sector, the College has made significant investments in major projects linking the technical aspects of engineering education with leadership, professional integrity, entrepreneurship and communication. We are challenging our students to look beyond the technical dimension of their engineering studies and consider the broader economic and social context in which the engineering profession operates.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD, be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer, be an internationally recognized scholar with a strong record of attracting competitively awarded research funding, and have experience or interest in developing interdisciplinary research and educational partnerships. Applications are welcome from candidates in all fields related to engineering education. The successful candidate will be appointed to a tenured or tenure-track position at the Full, Associate or Assistant Professor level. Joint appointments are a welcome possibility.

Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until a suitable candidate is found. The starting date is anticipated to be July 1, 2010. The College of Engineering forms a dynamic team of scholars dedicated to challenging conventional assumptions and developing new paradigms of success for our students.
