Executive Director,
Public Affairs and Communications

The University of Windsor is an exciting comprehensive education and research centre located at one of Canada's major international intersections. With close to 16,000 full time and part time students, and a commitment to empowering people and communities through education and research, the University is playing an ever greater role in the future of the region and the province.

The University is looking for a communications leader who will elevate the University's reputation, brand, and strategies for outreach to its many stakeholders. As Executive Director, Public Affairs and Communications, reporting to the President, you will create a communications and issues management framework that supports the strategic goals of the University on behalf of students, faculty, and staff. You will lead a team responsible for marketing the University's many activities, and ensure that the University's successes are in the public arena locally, nationally, and internationally.

As an accomplished communications leader in the public or private sector, you have demonstrated your political and strategic acuity in a senior organizational role. You have extensive experience in managing people and resources, and are a compelling writer, presenter, and spokesperson across all traditional and new media. You are aware of the need for rapid responses to issues and opportunities, and can mobilize strategies that will produce results.

The University of Windsor is committed to equity in its policies, practices, and programs; supports diversity in its teaching, learning, and work environments; and ensures that applications from members of traditionally marginalized groups are seriously considered under its employment equity policy. Those who would contribute to the further diversification of our university include, but are not limited to, women, Aboriginal peoples, persons with disabilities, members of visible minorities, and members of sexual minority groups. The University of Windsor invites you to apply to our welcoming community. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority.
