The Department of History, St. Thomas University, invites applications for an entry-level, 10-month limited term appointment, at the rank of assistant professor, to begin August 1, 2010.
The History Department at St. Thomas combines a collegial working environment with a strong research mandate and is dedicated to providing a first-rate undergraduate learning experience. The department seeks a historian who can contribute meaningfully to its innovative World History curriculum. Candidates whose work is global in scope, and which embraces broad comparative perspectives are particularly encouraged to apply. All time periods and geographic specialties are open. We anticipate that the successful candidate will teach introductory courses in World History as well as upper-year thematic courses that have considerable geographic breadth. It is expected that the successful candidate will play an important role in the design of these upper-year courses.
A PhD or imminent completion is required.
