The Department of Business and Administration at The University of Winnipeg invites applications for two one-year positions at the rank of Instructor to commence July 1, 2010.
Instructor in Accounting: Teaching responsibilities for this position include instruction in required accounting courses for undergraduate degrees in Business Administration, with the opportunity to teach upper-level accounting courses. The candidate is expected to contribute to departmental governance, which includes consultation with other members of the Department in curriculum development. Some liaison, on behalf of the Department, with professional accounting associations is required. The successful candidate will have some combination of the following qualifications: Master's degree or above in business (preferred), professional experience in accounting, and a professional designation in accounting (CA, CMA, or CGA). Experience teaching undergraduate accounting courses and working with professional accounting associations are definite assets.
Instructor in General Business: Teaching responsibilities for this position may include instruction in required introductory business courses for undergraduate degrees in Business Administration, as well as upper-level courses in strategy, ethics and/or international business. The candidate is expected to contribute to departmental governance, which includes consultation with other members of the Department in curriculum development. The ideal candidate has a Master's degree or above in business, relevant professional experience and experience teaching undergraduate courses in these areas.
The Department is among the largest in the University with a strong mandate for growth. We offer both a 3- and 4-year BBA using an interdisciplinary approach built on social and ethical responsibility. The Department strongly encourages collegiality and collaboration among members.
