The Department of Pathology at the Faculty of Medicine, McGill University is recruiting a Research Associate to lead a research team on cancer translational research. This same candidate will also be expected to teach in an academic environment.

The candidate must have 1) a track record carrying out basic research programs in the framework of a clinical trials environment, 2) a strong background in melanoma biology, preferably in melanoma replication control, and in biomarkers discovery, 3) expertise in biochemical analyses of various tumour, non-tumour and matrix proteins involved in tumor progression, and 4) experience in the organization and management of a research team by providing scientific and managerial direction for the project.
The successful candidate will be expected to 1) establish research methods as well as several technology platforms (expression arrays, CGH arrays, etc.), 2) be responsible for taking the lead/generating drafts/writing backgrounds/responsible literature searches regarding grant applications, 3) review and evaluate research findings and determine results; prepare reports and manuscripts, and 4) disseminate research results at scientific meetings and in peer-reviewed scientific publications.
