Two Assistant Professor Positions in Accounting (one tenure track and one contractually-limited)
The Department of Business at the University of Guelph invites applications for one tenure track position and one contractually-limited position (three years) in the area of accounting at the rank of Assistant Professor. Responsibilities of these positions include instruction in the undergraduate and graduate programs and the pursuit of scholarly research.
The University of Guelph is a top-ranked comprehensive university in Canada with an enrolment of more than 18,000 students. It is located in Guelph, Ontario (population of approximately 120,000) and is a one-hour drive west of Toronto, Ontario. The Department of Business is an integral part of the College of Management and Economics (www.cme.uoguelph.ca).
The Department of Business (www.business.uoguelph.ca) has responsibility for two majors in the BComm program, Human Resource Management and Accounting. The Department also offers an undergraduate leadership certificate, a two-year executive MA in Leadership and an Organizational Leadership field in the PhD in Management, and makes a major contribution to the BBA program at the University of Guelph-Humber.
Applicants should have (or be near completion of) an earned doctorate in Accounting or related field. Applicants must have a recognized accounting designation, proven teaching experience at the post-secondary level and practical business experience. Research must be focused on some aspect of accounting, with preference given to candidates who also have an interest in food, agribusiness, hospitality, tourism or entrepreneurship. Applications must include a curriculum vitae, a list of teaching interests, a teaching philosophy statement and a sample of recent research papers.
