Applications are invited for the position of Director, Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the University of Alberta.

The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine is affiliated with the Stollery Children's Hospital and Alberta Health Services. The division provides 44 hours of clinical coverage a day, and sees 25,000 patients annually. The division has established research programs; an outstanding Royal College approved resident training program and collaborative relationships with other divisions and research groups at the University of Alberta. In the near future, the division will be relocating into a new pediatric emergency clinical facility. This expansion will further the division's ability to innovate, expand and will bring further opportunities for collaboration.

Interested applicants should hold an MD or equivalent and be eligible for licensure in Alberta, have a fellowship in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, and have demonstrated clinical leadership and scholarly accomplishment in research and/or teaching.

This position offers a unique and exciting opportunity for a person of vision to guide and grow an established, internationally recognized Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine and build upon its strong academic and clinical foundations. In addition to the leadership role as the Director of Pediatric Emergency, the successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, research and clinical care in the division. The successful candidate will be appointed to a tenure track position at the University of Alberta. Remuneration for this senior position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will be based on the income scale of a competitive and highly successful academic alternate funding plan.
