Tenure Track Position in Solid Mechanics
The Department of Mechanical Engineering invites applications from outstanding individuals for one or more full-time, tenure track positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. We are interested in high quality candidates in the area of Solid Mechanics with focus in one of the following areas: Nano-Enabled Materials, Biomedical Systems or Energy and Natural Resources Engineering. The intention is to build on the areas of strength within the existing complement of staff and faculty.
The successful candidate will be required to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise undergraduate and graduate students, establish a viable, externally-funded research program and assist in the administrative duties of the department and faculty.
Salary and rank will commensurate with qualifications and experience. Candidates must hold a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, or related Engineering discipline, or expect to receive one before July 1, 2010. Research and/or industrial experience beyond a doctoral degree is desirable. Successful candidates will be expected, in due course, to register as a professional engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta.
