Theatre - Lecturer/Assistant Professor (scenographer/set designer)

The Department of Theatre at Dalhousie University invites applications for a ten- month limited-term appointment for a scenographer/set designer at the Lecturer/Assistant Professor level, commencing August 1, 2010. The successful candidate will design sets for all four productions in the Dalhousie Theatre season. He or she will also be expected to teach undergraduate-level classes in the principles of scenography and set design and to oversee team-taught classes in technical theatre and performance technology. Qualifications expected are MA, MFA or equivalent degree and/or substantial professional theatre experience with a particular emphasis on set design. Evidence of successful teaching experience at a post-secondary level is a strong asset. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
