This is a senior position responsible for leading and directing government relations strategy, plans and activities across local, regional, provincial and national platforms for and with senior leadership of the University including the President and the Vice President, University Relations. A university degree combined with several years of progressive experience working in a provincial or federal government relations capacity, or equivalent education and/or experience are required. The successful candidate must have extensive expertise, networks, political acumen, and a sound knowledge of the Ontario and Canadian political landscape. Knowledge of the internal workings of universities and other research-intensive environments is desired. You will have held progressively senior roles with a proven track record of achievement and success. Excellent oral and written communication skills, media relations knowledge, project management skills and management experience are required. Working knowledge and an ability to communicate in both official languages would be an asset.
