The second largest Faculty of its kind in the country, the Faculty has consistently provided adult learners with lifelong access to a broad range of programs and courses, both credit and non-credit, for professional development, enrichment and intellectual interest.

Reporting to the Provost & Vice-President Academic, the Dean of the Faculty of Continuing Education & Extension participates actively as a member of Dean's Council and provides strategic vision and leadership in planning and managing the Faculty, directing its significant contribution to the teaching, applied research and outreach programs of Mount Royal University. The challenge of this complex role will require great vision and collaboration with diverse groups within and external to the University. The new Dean will continue to capitalize on the Faculty's exceptional culture of collegiality and openness, and enhance this service as it continues to grow and develop as a leader in Canada.

The successful candidate will bring a demonstrated record of success as a leader and administrator in a well-respected post secondary institution at the level of dean, associate dean or chair or other public sector organization with responsibility for continuing education and lifelong learning. S/he will bring academic credentials appropriate to the leadership of a progressive Faculty (graduate degree required; PhD desirable) along with outstanding leadership and communication skills, a commitment to action and a demonstrated ability to inspire and mobilize others.
