Tenure Track Position in Elementary Education

St. Mary's University College invites applications for a tenure-track position in Education at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. This position is intended to support St. Mary's fully accredited two-year, after degree B.Ed program which is designed to prepare teachers to teach at the primary and elementary levels (K-6) in Alberta schools. While graduates of the B Ed program will be qualified to teach in a K-6 program in any school, public or private, the program is particularly focused on preparing teachers to teach in Catholic schools in Alberta or beyond.

The candidate must have completed a Ph.D. at the time of appointment and hold a valid teaching certificate. Candidates should have expertise in some combination of the following areas: Curriculum Theory and Methodology, Literacy, Assessment, and Educational Psychology, and be willing to supervise students in the practicum program. Preference will be given to those with previous university level teaching experience and have an established or emergent research agenda. St. Mary's offers a competitive salary and benefit package.
