Applications or nominations are invited for the role of Director, School of Occupational Therapy in the Faculty of Health Sciences. The selected candidate will be appointed to a tenured academic position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor and be willing to assume an outstanding opportunity to exercise creative and innovative leadership in teaching, research and administration within the School. Commitment to quality graduate education, a strong research record, excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to effectively advance all areas within the School of Occupational Therapy are essential. The Director will also contribute to leading the Faculty as part of the Faculty of Health Sciences' Leadership Team. The candidate must be eligible for registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.

Western University ( ) is one of Canada's leading research-intensive universities. It is located in London Ontario, known as the "Forest City" with a population of 400,000. London is also a major academic health sciences centre.

The Occupational Therapy program at Western University was established in 1970 as an undergraduate degree program. In 2000, the School implemented the first Canadian Masters level professional program in Occupational Therapy. In 2006, it launched the first Canadian Occupational Therapy program at the MSc and PhD levels in the field of Occupational Science. In 2012, the School launched the first combined professional-doctoral program in the Country. These innovations are testimony to the progressive nature of the School.

We have dynamic faculty members dedicated to the highest quality education for our students and to the development and dissemination of knowledge in Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science. Scholarship in the School is centred around the construct of occupation and relates to three themes: understanding occupation, enabling occupation, and professional education and practice. Within each of these themes, faculty research relates to diverse topics and incorporates a variety of research approaches. The School and the Faculty are committed to developing partnerships with the local community, with interdisciplinary colleagues, and with international partners. The term of the Director appointment is five years (renewable), and will afford the successful candidate both the time and the flexibility required to make a mark as an academic leader.
