A Research Associate position is available from June 2013 in the group of Brandenberger, Cline, Das Gupta, Maloney, Moore, and Walcher, in the department of Physics at McGill University, to study string theory, its compactifications, and applications in gravity.
Candidates should have a PhD in Physics with a minimum of 4 years of postdoctoral training. The candidate must have experience with: supergravity and worldsheet studies of non-Kahler heterotic string compactifications; holography in warped AdS_3 spacetimes in the context of string theory; gauge theory derivations of the exact quantum-corrected Kahler moduli space of Calabi-Yau compactifications; and quantum computation through adiabatic evolution.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. This grant funded appointment runs for 15 months. The deadline for applications is 1 January 2013.
