The University of Regina is currently functioning at the highest research capacity in its history and is among the top five comprehensive universities in Canada in terms of the impact of its research (Thompson Reuters, 2012). The Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research offers a wide array of graduate programs and the next Dean will have the opportunity to strategically expand graduate education and research opportunities in alignment with the University's strategic goals and objectives and the Strategic Research Plan.
Reporting to the Vice-President, Research, the Dean is responsible for providing strategic, academic and administrative leadership to the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research. The successful candidate will be a recognized leader in graduate education and post-secondary administration, and a champion of research and innovation. S/he will possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and will have campus-wide experience advocating for graduate studies and research. Candidates must possess a PhD, or equivalent, in a field relevant to the University of Regina.
