The Department of Computer Science in the Faculty of Science at Ryerson University (http://www.scs.ryerson.ca) in Toronto invites applications for a tenure-stream appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing August 1, 2013 (subject to budgetary approval). The area of specialization is Software Engineering with emphasis on application delivery and verification. Exceptional candidates in other areas of Computer Science may also be considered.
A PhD in Computer Science and significant evidence of excellence in research and evidence of, or the potential for, effective teaching are required. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Computer Science courses at all levels, with more emphasis on Software Engineering, conduct research, secure external research funding, and supervise graduate students.
The Department of Computer Science, consisting of 19 tenure-stream faculty members, prides itself both on the quality of its teaching and on the breadth and excellence of its research. The Department is in a phase of dynamic growth, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including a B.Sc. (with an optional Co-op), an M.Sc. and a PhD program.
