Teach as a regular member of the Faculty of Education. Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning, and student success. Successful candidates will participate in faculty and departmental committee meetings and other faculty initiatives.
Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning and student success through scholarship and institutional service. Successful candidates will participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom, including student support; institutional, faculty and departmental committee meetings and other initiatives; and professional activities in keeping with their disciplines in and outside the institution.
A doctorate in a relevant area from an appropriately accredited institution. Special Education and/or Educational Psychology background. Level C test user qualifications and extensive experience with Level B test administration. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills. Willingness and ability to function in a team setting; responsive to diverse cultural and academic backgrounds and learning styles. Commitment to the development of students as teachers. Eligibility for British Columbia Teaching Certificate or equivalent.
Familiarity with the Vancouver Island University Teacher Education Program.
Experience as a school psychologist.
