Algoma University in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario invites applications for faculty positions in the following areas:

ECONOMICS
A tenure track appointment at the entry level, beginning July 1, 2013. The successful candidate must have completed a PhD (or ABD) in Economics, demonstrate a commitment to research and undergraduate teaching, and possess teaching expertise in several of the following: Introductory Economics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, Money and Banking, Economic Development, International Finance, Public Finance, Environmental Economics, and Economics of Natural Resources. The ability to develop an independent research program and the potential to secure external research funding is an asset.

SOCIOLOGY
Two tenure-track appointments at the entry level, beginning July 1, 2013. The successful candidate must have completed a PhD in Sociology with obvious strengths in undergraduate teaching. Areas of teaching expertise should cover one or several of the following: social inequality, social construction of families and aging, social theory, globalization and/or quantitative methods. Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal issues is required. The ability to develop an independent research program in the candidate's research area and the potential to secure external research funding is an asset.

LAW & JUSTICE
A 9-month contract-limited appointment at the entry-level, beginning August 1, 2013. Candidates must have a Ph.D. or SJD (or imminent completion), evidence of excellent teaching ability at the undergraduate level, and demonstrated ability to develop an independent research program. The successful candidate must possess expertise in Criminal Law with teaching interests in Criminal Law, Law and Social Sciences, Private Law, and Introduction to Legal Studies.

HISTORY
A 9-month contract-limited appointment at the entry-level, beginning August 1, 2013. The successful candidate must have completed a PhD. or be A.B.D. in a relevant field, and have a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching. The successful candidate will possess an expertise in early modern British history, as well as the history of ideas, and will complement the department's strengths in European and North American history.

PSYCHOLOGY
A 9-month contract-limited appointment at the entry-level, beginning August 1, 2013. The successful candidate must have a completed PhD, and a demonstrated commitment to research and undergraduate teaching. The area of specialization for this position is open, though preference will be given to candidates with expertise in Clinical and Counseling Psychology. The successful candidate may be asked to teach statistics and introductory psychology and will be encouraged to supervise honours thesis projects.

BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
A tenure track (or contract-limited) appointment at the junior level of Assistant Professor or at Lecturer, beginning July 1, 2013. Candidates must have a Ph.D. or DBA (or imminent completion), evidence of excellent teaching ability at the undergraduate level, and demonstrated ability to develop an independent research program. The successful candidate must possess expertise in Human Resources, with teaching interests in Training and Development, Compensation, Industrial Relations, Human Resource Planning, Organizational Behaviour, and Management of Human Resources. The ability to teach in a secondary area of business would be an asset.
