Senior Executive Officer, Wilfrid Laurier University, Brantford Campus

Inspiring lives of leadership and purpose, Wilfrid Laurier University is an extraordinary institution with a unique ability to combine teaching and research excellence with a vibrant sense of community and social engagement. In 1999, Laurier opened its Brantford campus, which today employs over 200 faculty and staff and serves over 2800 students, on a thriving and vibrant campus in Brantford's historical downtown core. WLU's Brantford Campus is a shining example of interdisciplinary learning and programming within the liberal arts, and of the power of education to revitalize a community.

As the Brantford Campus Senior Executive Officer, and the President's senior representative, you have two core functions: create opportunities and strategies that advance Laurier's academic mission, and build strong relationships with the Brantford Campus's partners and stakeholders. You are, in essence, a bridge -- you link the University to the City of Brantford, the communities of the surrounding region, and aboriginal communities including Six Nations and Mississauga of the New Credit; you support academic and administrative leaders on campus and help to strengthen the connection with their colleagues on other campuses; you support the vibrant partnerships of Laurier with other post-secondary education providers, and you seek new avenues to grow and advance Laurier's innovative model of academic excellence.

As the ideal candidate, you are a confident, influential, collaborative, conciliatory and supportive leader. Throughout your career, you have built relationships founded on trust and respect. You are, as many would describe, the perfect representative for a leading, multi-campus University that is committed to community, partnership, and innovation. You have the reputation, good judgement, and communications skills to offer presidential-level leadership on campus, at the management table and with partner communities. Your knowledge of and experience in higher education will serve Laurier well. Most importantly, you are inspired by Laurier's commitment to strive for excellence in serving its students and community.
