The Department of Sociology, Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies invites applications from qualified candidates for a one-year Sessional Assistant Professor position in Youth and Life Course Studies. Applicants must hold a PhD in Sociology or a related discipline and demonstrate excellence, or the promise of excellence, in undergraduate teaching, with a specialization in youth and life course studies as a primary research and teaching area. The successful candidate will demonstrate a clear research agenda oriented to exploring youth and/or life course studies, with reference to such issues as difference and diversity, in/equality, inclusion and exclusion. Key interests may include but are not limited to youth culture; youth and opportunity; health, wellbeing and life course; life course disruption.

This contractually limited appointment carries a teaching load of three full courses or the equivalent. The start date for this position is July 1, 2013. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval.
