Instructor - Science Writing

The Faculty of Science at Dalhousie University invites applications for a ten-month 50% full-time limited-term teaching position at the Instructor level beginning August 1, 2013 and ending May 31, 2014.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for a first-year writing requirement class in the Faculty of Science in the Fall and Winter terms of 2013-14. Responsibilities will include developing/updating course material, teaching (3 one-hour lectures and 2 one-hour tutorials per week), setting and marking assignments/quizzes/exams, supervising two TAs per term, meeting with students, setting up and monitoring a Blackboard Learning site, and maintaining and submitting grades. The incumbent will be available for two hours per week for office hours.

Applicants must have completed a Masters degree and have experience related to scientific writing. Familiarity with SCIE 1111 and university writing centres would be assets.
