Environmental Engineering Program
The Department of Process Engineering and Applied Science is seeking an outstanding individual for a probationary tenure-track appointment. This position will be at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Environmental Engineering program and will commence July 1, 2013. The recruited individual will maintain a standard course load taught at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and would serve a crucial role in strengthening the new integrated curriculum in environmental engineering. The new curriculum integrates aspects of process engineering, civil engineering, and biological engineering in the development of solutions to environmental problems. The position would be filled by an environmental or chemical engineer, with a solid background in process engineering, who has expertise in either green process design, or remediation engineering. The faculty member would be able to teach core courses in both chemical and environmental engineering, and teach technical electives and graduate courses in their areas of specialization.
He/she will also establish an externally funded research program and assist with the supervision of graduate students in the department. Current research activities within the Environmental Engineering program are largely centered on the air pollution monitoring, wastewater treatment, and waste utilization. Accordingly, relevant research experience in these domains would be desirable.
Applicants must hold a doctorate degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering and have demonstrated excellence in the teaching of University-level courses in these disciplines. Applicants should also have proven skills in research as evident by the successful completion of peer-reviewed journal articles, conference presentations, and grant acquisition.
Applications will be accepted until 30 April 2013. Persons wishing to be considered for this position must submit a statement of teaching interests/philosophy, a statement of research interests, and curriculum vitae to:
