The Board of Ontario College Application Service (known as "OCAS") is seeking an experienced leader as its new Chief Executive Officer due to the impending retirement of its current CEO in September 2013. OCAS is located in Guelph, Ontario.

OCAS provides important services in three distinct areas: applications-to-college, a college system data warehouse, and marketing the value of a college education. OCAS serves a wide variety of stakeholder groups, including college applicants, Ontario high schools, and the Ontario college system including registrars and admissions officers, institutional researchers, liaison officers, and finance, and information technology professionals.

Reporting to the Board, the CEO will work with a dedicated management team and staff in order to lead a shared-services organization in executing its mandated role and Service Level Agreements. He/she will be responsible for setting directions for the organization, while drawing on the guidance of three Advisory Committees that correspond to the three mandated areas of shared service, to ensure that OCAS priorities and services are aligned with stakeholder needs and interests. The CEO will ensure that OCAS directions reflect future trends related to the organization's mandated role and services. The CEO must be adept at working effectively within OCAS' multi-stakeholder environment and in this complex leadership role where the scope and impact of judgments and decisions are very important.

The ideal candidate will bring experience in leading a similar 'shared-services' organization or environment along with an understanding of technology-enabled application, admissions, data warehousing, marketing or similar business processes. Experience with service level agreements and in ensuring outstanding service delivery within complex, multi-stakeholder and consensus-based environments which support the public sector is important. A knowledge of, and experience with the College sector would be considered an asset. The successful candidate will be highly strategic, analytical, collaborative and an excellent communicator. He/she will be skilled at building and sustaining positive relationships at all levels and capable of ensuring OCAS' future organizational effectiveness.
