Camosun College is located in beautiful Victoria, BC. Its two campuses serve approximately 20,000 learners a year in certificate, diploma, Bachelor degree and continuing education programs. Each year, Camosun welcomes over 1,000 Aboriginal students from 50 Nations including Métis and Inuit groups, and over 550 International students from 40 different countries.

Position Overview

The Associate Vice President, Student Experience and Educational Innovation ("AVP"), is a new position at Camosun College and will provide strategic leadership in support of the College's Education Plan and Strategic Plan, as well as having overall responsibility for the College's Strategic Enrollment Management efforts. Working within a framework of current strategic enrollment management theory and practice, the AVP, under the direction of the Vice-President, Academic, will work collaboratively with units across the College to deliver exceptional student services, support and education - focusing on all student experiences but also attending to populations such as working adults, immigrant learners, Aboriginal students, and international students.

This position will provide and operationalize an overall vision for an exceptional student experience at the college, and will create further linkages and generate support to ensure that students are at the forefront of decision-making across the college. The AVP will strive to ensure services and supports for students in and outside the division are integrated, comprehensive and cooperative. Working with the Educational Research department, the incumbent will support effective information based decision making in all areas of responsibility. A strategic view to student services provision and the opportunities for innovation and the use of technology will be a part of the strategic leadership for our student services units. This position will be key to the college's positioning as Canada's College of Life Changing Learning.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • A post-secondary degree from an appropriately accredited institution in a related discipline; a graduate degree is preferred;
  • Five to ten years of progressively responsible senior administrative experience in the areas of Student Services and Enrollment Management in a post-secondary environment.
