In order to support the University achieve the vision and commitments outlined in the "engaged university" strategy, an Executive Director, Communications & Marketing position has been created, reporting to the Vice President, External Relations (Vice President). In this new role, the Executive Director (ED) oversees a team of communications and marketing professionals providing strategic leadership and tactical advice on internal and external communications and marketing. Specifically, the ED will work with a decentralized group of communications experts across SFU and will have direct accountability for the University's branding, marketing, digital engagement, media relations, internal communications and creative services.
Reporting to the Vice President, External Relations and based out of SFU's Burnaby campus, the Executive Director will lead a team of 35 through 5 direct reports in establishing a culture of excellence and customer service that embraces innovative marketing and communications initiatives. The new ED will work across the university's three campuses to establish common performance objectives and metrics, optimize efficiencies, and develop an integrated, university-wide marketing/communications plan.
