The Faculty of Business and Information Technology invites applications for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Business Informatics in one (or a combination) of the following NSERC eligible research fields: Finance; Operations Research/Management; or Marketing. This is a tenure-stream position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level and is subject to budgetary approval. The candidate would start at a mutually agreeable time but not later than July 1, 2014. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong record of research achievement in the relevant field, a commitment to teaching and graduate training, a strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and excellent communication skills.
The Faculty of Business and IT incorporates programs in business, information technology including IT security and the science of game. FBIT is committed to enriching and expanding student experience and success through internships, capstone projects, international exchanges and direct involvement in incubators in Canada and abroad. This position is an opportunity to join a young faculty of exceptional researchers and play a leading role in building our reputation and support for Bachelor, Master and Doctoral Programs.
Tier 2 Chairs are tenable for five years and are renewable once. They are directed to exceptional emerging researchers who are acknowledged by their peers to have potential to lead in their field. They are open to individuals of any nationality who have earned a Ph.D. within the past ten years. More information about the CRC program may be found at http://www.chairs.gc.ca.
This position falls within the bargaining unit represented by the UOIT Faculty Association and will be subject to the terms and conditions of the collective agreement between the University and the UOIT Faculty Association. The collective agreement may be found on the Human Resources section of our website.
