The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Waterloo invites application for faculty positions in the following areas:

Civil and Environmental Engineering
Applicants should have expertise in the application of quantitative methods to problems in one or more of the following research areas: indoor or outdoor air quality, treatment and remediation of hazardous waste, environmental microfluidics, or subsurface energy resources.
The preferred candidate will have a research record in the design, construction, maintenance and rehabilitation of flexible and rigid pavements, and expertise in one or several research areas such as modern pavement materials, pavement performance modeling, pavement instrumentation and evaluation, and materials testing.
» TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in one or more of the following research areas: traffic operations, urban and regional planning, safety, asset management, public transportation, and freight/goods movements.

Electrical and Computer Engineering
The successful candidate will be part of a small team that teaches and mentors students in the first-year program, assisting with the crucial transition from high school to university.
Applications are invited from outstanding candidates in software systems for a tenure-track/tenured faculty position. Suitable candidates will be considered for a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair.

Management Sciences
» CHAIR, MANAGEMENT SCIENCES Nominations and applications are invited for the position of Chair of the Department of Management Sciences. The successful candidate will have the academic qualifications required for an appointment as a tenured faculty member; a distinguished record of teaching, research and university service; and demonstrated leadership ability.

Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering
» MECHATRONICS ENGINEERING The successful candidate will have experience working in the areas of robotics rehabilitation, smart sensors and actuators for supporting aging population, mechatronics-based orthotics and prosthetics mechatronics devices, and bioinstrumentation for non-invasive diagnosis and prognosis in elderly and disabled population.

Quantum Computing
» Candidates are sought for a faculty position in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) or Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering (MME) with an appointment in the University of Waterloo's Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC). Consideration will only be given to those whose research program directly connects with the goals and ongoing research in IQC and related areas in ECE or MME.

Systems Design Engineering

We are seeking a candidate who is developing Systems Methodologies, such as modeling and simulation, optimization, conflict analysis, uncertainty analysis, and complex systems theory.
