Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Services and CFO, the Director of Finance provides leadership, strategic planning and senior level management direction and technical expertise to the administrators and staff responsible for the Financial Services for the College. The Director is responsible for the financial and payroll systems, risk management, financial reporting, planning and budgeting as well as financial analysis.
This is a new role to Loyalist, integrating strategic financial planning and oversight of financial management College-wide, and will provide a significant opportunity to make key contributions to the College's strategic priorities and success.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a university degree and an appropriate financial designation (CA, CMA, CPA or CGA). Candidates will be expected to have held a financial leadership position preferably in the public or the broader public sector with an in depth knowledge of financial reporting and analysis. Strong leadership skills are required to manage evolving priorities and innovation within the college sector. The successful candidate will have a record of possessing objectivity, integrity, business acumen, tact and discretion. Candidates will have an aptitude for proactive and timely problem-solving and a track record of being collaborative, respectful and innovative.
