Launching in late 2014, the new school for continuing education will be one of the largest and most innovative of its kind in the country with the potential to reflect the full spectrum of the continuing education field: non-credit courses/programs, credit certificates, and undergraduate degrees. With unique course delivery models and top quality programs, the school will increase the University's adult and international student population and will be central to the University's overall growth strategy.

The University is seeking a dynamic individual to assume a leadership role in this exciting new enterprise. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director, Professional Education Programs will provide leadership and management to York's continuing professional education portfolio and oversee the team responsible to identify, develop, and deliver new programs. As Director, you will build strong relationships internally and externally, effectively manage, coach and mentor staff, oversee finances, marketing and market research, and develop and implement strategic business plans. You will be key to the identification of market-driven continuing professional education programs, forecasting which programs will be successful, championing them through the approval process, and supervising the development and management of programs to meet enrolment and financial targets.

As the ideal candidate, you bring solid leadership experience from a post-secondary environment. A graduate degree is required and a CTDP certification would be considered an asset. You understand the importance of developing strong relationships to effectively navigate a complex, collegial, multi-stakeholder environment. Strategic, adaptable and innovative, you have a reputation as someone who can generate creative solutions and handle anything that comes your way. You can successfully navigate change and growth by developing and executing solid project plans, ensuring clear communication with internal and external partners, and maintaining a sense of humour in all situations. You possess superior business acumen, critical thinking, and project management skills and you are adept at keeping many balls in the air.
